Take a Bite Out of the New Forest Food Fest

A week of culinary events featuring 15 foodie themes and headline events hosted by popular New Forest venues and local food producers.

The Fest will feature celebrity chef evenings, English tea parties, and tasting menus consisting of both traditional forest favourites and modern offerings, with the addition of award winning seafood sourced from the Forests 40 miles of coastline.

If any of this sounds good to you, then the New Forest Food Fest is the place for you to be this winter.

Not only will there be a range of culinary delights on offer, but you will also have the chance to pick up cookery tips from the professionals by taking part in a variety of activities, from chocolatier lessons to sausage-making demos.

Christmas Shopping At the Weald and Downland Christmas Market

This lively annual Christmas Market is located within the scenic surroundings of the Museum’s beautiful historic buildings. With over 130 stalls to choose from, selling everything from arts and crafts to unusual gifts and foods – the market is the ideal place to do a spot of Christmas shopping.

There will be festive music to get you in the Christmas mood, and stands selling hot chestnuts to ward off the seasonal chill. Not a fan of chestnuts? Rest assured there will be plenty of delicious hot treats to sample, along with a hog roast to tuck in to.

Perfect for all the family, kids will love to meet the visiting donkeys and the Museums working shire horses.

Step Back In Time at the Victorian Festival of Christmas

Fancy a traditional Christmas? Take a trip down to Portsmouth’s historic dockyard for a Victorian Festival and watch the snow-covered roads come alive with chimney sweeps, carol singers, and whimsical characters from the past.

The Dockyard will play host to a large variety of seasonal market stalls selling local produce and unusual gifts making for the perfect Christmas present this year. Authentic Victorian entertainment will feature in the form of street performers, both on stage and in amongst the crowds.

There’s no chance you’ll get thirsty either, with Fagin’s Real Ale Tavern on hand with tasty old fashioned grogg to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Get Into the Festive Spirit at Hertford Christmas Gala

Pay Hertford a visit this November to enjoy a whole host of Christmas themed entertainment. As well as fun fair rides and carol singing, there will be a festive market, the opportunity for late night shopping in the town, and an exciting Christmas light switch on featuring live music from local bands and schools.

The lively atmosphere comes complete with a visit from Santa and his reindeer, and a Christmas themed ghost walk for those who like a scare!

The annual “Think Christmas, Think Hertford” shopping experience will also take place the day after, with retailers offering special promotions and handing out samples, so you can kick off your Christmas shopping in Hertford.
