Thankfully we don’t experience many issues with guests who choose to stay with us. However, there are always risks involved when travelling around the country and staying in hotels. The last thing we want is for something to go wrong that could ruin your time with us. For that reason, we’ve come up with some safety advice that should help travellers this winter.

  • Keep your passport locked away

Many people who book a room at our guest house are travelling to or from a foreign country. We’re so close to Gatwick that Gable End is the obvious choice for many families and business people. Imagine how stressful your experience might become if you forget or lose your passport. We like our guests to leave with smiles on their faces, and so we always advise you to keep your identification documents safe. Double check you have them before leaving home, and store them in a locked compartment in your bag. You can even put them in our safes to give you peace of mind.

  • Use established local taxi firms

Guests at our establishment like to take in some of the local sights. We are always happy to arrange transport by contacting respected local taxi firms. That way, you won’t have to worry about drivers taking long routes or charging too much for their services. Make sure you don’t ring a random number or hail a taxi on the street unless you can see their credentials. Dodgy taxi drivers will try to get as much money out of you as possible. That means even a short journey might end up costing a fortune. Let us book your taxis, and you have no concerns.

  • Charge your mobile phone

We’ve never had a guest get into too much trouble by not charging their phone. However, the local area can be pretty confusing for people who’ve never visited this part of the country before. So, it’s wise to keep a charged phone in your pocket wherever you go exploring. No matter where you might venture, you can call us for directions if you get lost. That is going to be difficult if you have a flat battery. Again, just make sure you note the name of our guesthouse and inform a reputable taxi driver if the worst happens. Everyone knows where we are based, and so you’ll always get back to your room safely.

The only other piece of advice we can offer is that you should always ask if you need assistance. Our team is happy to help with any questions or queries you might have, and we’re around twenty-four hours a day. Our main goal is to make sure your time with us is as enjoyable as possible. That’s why we’ll happily book taxis, provide details of local sights, and keep your valuables safe.

The month of December is always busy for us, but we never let that affect the level of service offered. While you’re staying at our guesthouse, you are our top priority. Just let us know if you need anything and we’ll do our best to provide.
