Nestled, in an infamous area of “Outstanding Natural Beauty”, sits Borde Hill Gardens. Borde Hill boasts a combined space of parkland, garden, and woodland of over 200 acres. The garden itself is 17 acres large, and is designed as a stunning series of “outdoor rooms”, each with its own theme and matching scent, the tranquil Italian garden, and the romantic rose garden, as fine examples of the reason Borde Hill is a feast for the senses. The garden is constantly being updated with seasonal designs, to keep interest as the year goes on.
This beautiful garden originated in the early 1900s, made up of exotic plants, gathered by famous plant collectors, through their travels to places like China and the Himalayas. This is a legacy that current visitors to the garden, still enjoy. In 1999, Borde Hill garden gained the South East Tourism Board`s sought- after “Attraction Of The Year Award”, and gained the title “Garden Of The Year” in 2004 via HHA/Christie.
Spring brings the early flowering of the gardens enviable magnolias, and the azaleas and rhododendrons, garner many visitors to Borde Hill each springtime. In summer, hundreds of roses -that make their home in the gardens- let out a dreamy scent, and the parklands are filled with every colour of the spectrum.
Borde Hill also caters to children with their fun filled Adventure Playground, suitable for kids of all ages, it features: a zip wire, monkey bars, climbing frames, and more. Families can bring picnics to enjoy by the lakes, or take part in many of the family suitable events throughout the year.
